Things that are good and things that go bump

The Village Gallery reception was wonderful! I wondered how many people we’d get, since there were other things like Portland Open Studios going on. Turned out we had a steady stream of visitors. I got to talk about my art with several friends and met some new ones. The art activity of “blind drawing” was a big hit too. Some of the results were really cool. I’m going to have to try that on my own since I was too busy chatting with people in the gallery to participate.

Tomorrow night a new show opens at People’s Art in Portland’s Pioneer Place. It’s called Things that Go Bump in the Night and it’s full of creepy goodness. The opening will be a costume party, which should be a lot of fun. I have two of my favorite older paintings in the show, Inner Demons and New Life.

Inner Demons, mixed media on canvas, 16x20 inches. $200.
