It’s that time of year again…

…and I’m gearing up for the 3rd Annual Affordable Art for Everyone. We have a full show this year and I’m excited to see all of the art and artists under one roof.

I’m also getting my own work ready and making sure I’ll have everything I need for my booth. In addition to paintings, I’ll be bringing some new stitched ornaments and some older ornaments and cat toys that I used to sell on Etsy.

Less than 5 days away!!

Remember when I said I entered the Lake Oswego festival?

“Rumpelstiltskin” won an award and “No More Candy.” found a new home. What a good day at the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts!

It’s an amazing show. I had so much fun walking around recognizing work by familiar artists and finding new ones to look up when I got home. Definitely worth a trip this weekend!

It feels like I’ve been waiting for ages to open the applications for this year’s Affordable Art show, but today’s the day! All the ducks are in a row and the application info is polished up. I’m thrilled that people had already started to apply by noon today! As artists start submitting images, I can imagine the event taking shape. It’s gonna be a good one!

Wheeee!

Here’s a new little painting. Maybe I shouldn’t call it new…the dog started to emerge back in July. Then he hung around the studio, frozen in his downhill race, until I finished him up this week.

Original outsider art painting, mixed media on 14x11" canvas. $90.

The Big 500 show wrapped up this week and I found out these two paintings sold! I’ve sold quite a few paintings by now but I still get excited every time someone buys one, and I always wonder who it was who made that connection with the art. It’s a good feeling to know they’re out there in the world.

I’m going to be on TV!

Well, my art is. I just got word that one of my paintings, Facing the Blues, was used on the set of Portlandia. The new season starts in January. I’m not sure which episode the painting is in, so I’ll be watching verrrry closely.
